Rinse or wash the metal bin by hand; do not put the outer metal bin in the dishwasher. Do not wash the filters, but change each filter every 3-6 months depending on usage. The plastic inner bucket is dishwasher safe.

One charcoal filter is included, helping to trap smells inside and prevent things from getting in. Unlike others, our compost bin doesn't have holes on the top, effectively blocking odor and keeping fruit flies away. The tight-fitting yet easy-to-open lid has several dents, making the bin more sealed.
